This business valuation company was established in 2007 by two national thought leaders on business valuations, Warren S. Burkholder Jr. and Louis J. Pereira. President

Louis J. Pereira, President of Merrimack Business Appraisers, is one of the nation’s foremost authorities on business valuation. As a practitioner and educator, Lou prepares and presents expert valuations that are based on thoughtful and thorough analysis, consideration of relevant facts, informed judgment, reasonableness, and common sense.

Louis J. Pereira has completed the most intensive training in the country and earned the highest designations available in the field of business valuations. There are fewer than 200 Certified Business Appraisers in the country and Lou is one of them. In New England, Louis J. Pereira is one of only a dozen having earned the rigorous designation of Certified Business Appraiser.

Facts

  • Impeccable track record; 100% of valuations presented and testified to in front of a trier of fact have been accepted.
  • Valuations completed for all major industries and sectors.
  • Business valuations in 17 countries and throughout the United States.
  • More than 600 business valuations.

Professional Designations

  • Certified Business Appraiser (CBA) from the Institute of Business Appraisers (IBA); fewer than 12 in New England and fewer than 200 across the country have this designation.
  • Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) from the American Society of Appraisers (ASA); profession’s preeminent standard that requires 10,000 hours in business valuation and only professional designation to comply with the USPAP.
  • Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysis (NACVA).
  • Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) from the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA).

“the CBA is extremely difficult to obtain – this is well known in the industry. As a specific example, in 2014 we had 47 candidates submit reports, of which two were passed. … CBAs (MCBAs) represent a premier group of BV professionals who had to cross the “Grand Canyon” to achieve their designation. This is not something to be wasted, and like a rare coin, is something to be cherished.”
